élections législatives

Élections législatives are held in France every five years to elect "députés" to the "Assemblée nationale". The president is chosen in the "élection présidentielle", which also comes round every five years. Voting is by direct universal suffrage and is divided into two rounds. The ballots always take place on a Sunday.
