verlanVerlan is a form of slang popularized in the 1950's. It consists of inverting a word's syllables, the term verlan itself coming from "l'envers" ("à l'envers" = back to front). Typical examples are "féca" ("café"), "ripou" ("pourri"), "meuf" ("femme"), and "beur" ("Arabe").
